Dibya has been involved with open source community and introducing OSS at an enterprise level for past 3.5 years. Prior to that, he was a network programmer specializing in security softwares. An open source advocate in general and Ruby and Ruby on Rails in particular. He is also a consultant and corporate trainer for Ruby and Ruby on Rails. He was a mentor through Ruby Central for Google Summer of Code (GSoc) 2006 where in he worked on porting Ruby to Symbian platform and in GSoc 2008 he is co-mentoring Rails thread safe project. He was also involved with Red Hat’s Lord of Code Contest 2006. His technical interest lies in working with new upcoming languages (Lua, D, IO) and in developing high-end web and enterprise applications. He contributes to several well-known open source projects and does philanthropic work for spreading OSS. He has been instrumental in starting various open source communities some being PuneRuby group (co-founder, the biggest Ruby group in India), Agile Development group, and internship programs in PG colleges. He speaks in various conferences and institutes on Open Source and its various stacks.
At the corporate level, Dibya has worked across the ladder. Starting from an enterprise consultant, he moved on to become CEO and VP-Development for various American start-up companies.
Over the past few years, Dibya has focused his attentions to the social and collaborative dimension of product creation and how SME’s can benefit and fetch a better ROI using open source solutions and help in migrations.
